On Tuesday, September 8, the OSCC started their 70th season. There was a good turn out for members, but there’s always room for more. The following are a few of the things covered at the meeting.
The club will celebrate its 70th anniversary with events like the 1956 Challenge, Then and Now Exhibition, a 70 Hour Scavenger Hunt and more.
The club is having a joint meeting in October with the Saugeen Shores Camera Club of Port Elgin, featuring a presentation by Matt Huras on wildlife images. There will be an opportunity for taking photos at the Saugeen First Nation Amphitheatre beginning at 11:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at Faith Lutheran Church (525 Ivings Dr, Port Elgin) at 2 p.m. with doors opening at 1:30 p.m.
Club President, Greg McMillan, introduced The Buddy System for members to learn from each other. Greg has offered to mentor members interested in improving their phone photography.
Greg introduced RapidRAW, a free Lightroom alternative, and will investigate its Lightroom Catalogue integration. He will demo it at the October meeting.
Next month’s assignment is Grey Bruce Landmarks, where members are to submit images of a recognizable landmark located somewhere in Grey and Bruce Counties.
