The Owen Sound Camera Club is pleased to announce that the 69th season for the club will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd at the New Life Center at 201 4th Avenue West, Owen Sound, Ontario, at 7:00pm.

We began as a group of friends in 1956 who gathered to enjoy a common interest in photography. Today we still hold those values. We are the largest camera club in Grey and Bruce, and our monthly meetings showcase our members’ images based on a monthly assignment theme. There are also tech talks/videos and occasional workshops, and special talks. See our calendar for this year’s assignments.

If you were ever thinking of joining a Camera Club I would encourage you to please come check us out.

This season we have a few workshops as well as some great speakers which we will be allowing the public to also enjoy.

I am very pleased to announce that on September 6th 2022 the Owen Sound camera club will begin its 66th year. And Although Covid is still a threat we are going to meet in person.

On Tuesday September 6th 2022 at 7pm we will begin our new season. If you are interested in joining our club please feel free to drop by The New Life Center at 201 4th Avenue West, Owen Sound. Doors open at 6:30 pm

For two and a half years we have maintained our club membership by continuing to hold regular meetings on the first Tuesday of the month using Zoom. Although we were not accepting new members we did seem to add a few.

Our meetings are going to change a little as we learn to run meetings with the threat of Covid. Our member’s health is the number one priority for us. To keep us all safe we will not be serving snacks and drinks to start. If you wish to bring a coffee and snack for yourself that would be fine. Although we are not sure what the mask mandate will be I would suggest you bring a mask along.

During the pandemic we did not solicit for membership but from the Facebook Page we did have inquiries. We are now open to new members and we would be very happy to include you in our club.

That is a little bit about our club, where we were during the pandemic and where we are going through the new normal of having Covid always in the background.

I hope everyone is enjoying the varied summer weather. Although members have a couple of months without meetings don’t forget to enter your images for the assignments – July “All in a Row” and August “Waves” (check here for cutoff dates). Now is also a good time to start collecting your images for next season’s assignments, here is the list for 2022-2023 season …

Well, we have had a few days of rain recently son hopefully members have managed to get out and capture a few shots for this month’s assignment. Entries are due at close of play April 26th!

It is almost feeling Spring now the snow has gone (mostly) and the odd flower has appeared. I am sure there is still more snow to come, but hopefully it won’t stay for long. Don’t forget to your Texture assignment images in by the 29th.

It is amazing how quickly the first two months of this year have gone. It is already time for members to get their Frame within a Frame images in. Closing date is 22nd Feb.
